I spoke with my friend Paige about life and my journey into the animation industry. It’s up on her website at http://storyporter.com/mike-stern-animator/
Al, Mike and Mort.
My first animation teacher Albert Baruch just sent me this picture of me with him and legendary Mad Magazine Illustrator Mort Drucker circa 1994. Al brought me along as a guest to a meeting of the Berndt Toast Gang, the Long Island Chapter of the National Cartoonists Society. I remember it being a truly inspirational experience.
I never even knew this picture existed until it showed up in the mail. :)
Making of HTTYD from a few years back. I’m not sure why it wasn’t posted online earlier.
Last shot of the doc is some ref I shot for seq 1800.
I sat down with the dudes from Robot Chicken for a QA today at @DWAnimation. @SethGreen, @wizmatts Matt Senreich, Eric Towner and John Harvatine IV showed us some footage from season six and then got into some hysterical production stories.
These guys really have a good thing going. They’ve managed to establish a creative free-for-all. Hearing about it was a truly inspiring experience.
